For the record, I don’t think all people who don’t want Jesse as Finnick are racists. In my crusade I was met with a lot of people who immediately challenged my fancasting with “But Finnick is WHITE.” No where in the book is Finnick’s race every mentioned. Additionally, people started saying things like “but Finnick is Blonde Haired, Blue Eyed, Tan and probably Irish.” Tan and Irish do not go hand in hand and Finnick is the opposite of “blonde and blue eyed,” he is “dark bronze” haired and has eyes that are “incredible sea green.” But because Finnick is clearly written as a highly desirable character in the books, people projected what they they see as highly desirable “a blonde hair blue eyed Zac Efron.” It’s a book, it’s open to people’s interpretation. In fact, I’ve hear bronze interpreted as RED by some people, which I just totally disagree with since red haired people just BY NATURE DO NOT TAN. Sorry, that’s a natural 100% fact.
ANYWAY, this is all to say, it’s ok if Jesse is not the Finnick you have in mind, just don’t try to say it’s because “Finnick is white” or “Jesse looks nothing like Finnick.” Finnick is a character, he’s whatever anyone wants to see him as given the description Suzanne Collins gave us. Jesse is just as viable a candidate as any of the names I’ve seen, and IN MY OPINON matches the physical description of Finnick more than any other actor I’ve seen in the running.
Some people have been upset that I have admitted which actors I would like or wouldn’t like to see play Finnick Odair in Catching Fire. Specifically, I have been called a “racist bitch” because I said I didn’t think Jesse Williams was appropriate for the role. Now, if you’ll read my post, you’ll…
This is pretty amazing…the public saying WE WANT THIS in a movie. It’s a process that’s so out of our hands until the time comes to watch it…I really love the idea of making our voice heard in terms of what we want to see prior to production. Really great.
Kamanitree: Do itttt!!

Funnily, me too, but Garret isn’t a bad second choice.
THEN I WOULD DEFINITELY WANT TO SEE THIS:
OVER THIS:
IN THE CATCHING FIRE MOVIE… SERIOUSLY.

Hey Gabblers!
Here’s an interesting article on Jesse Williams!
Nothing brings about a good old racist discussion than casting a film adaptation of a beloved book. So went the bru-ha-ha with Amandla Stenberg, who played Rue in The Hunger Games, and now fans are up in arms over the casting of…
People bitching about this sexy guy being cast as Finnick Odair.
May the crabs of 1000 whores infect your vaginas because okay, he doesn’t look like Finnick in the books. So? Who cares? Not everything in a film adaption has to be completely perfect. Jennier Lawrence didn’t look like a…
I said this on my personal blog and I’ll say it here to, It’s okay to white wash but we can’t throw a little color in there?
I’m just asking.
#JesseForFinnick
It’s not like Jennifer matches what I expected Katniss to look like (at all).
